Our Principles
While updating and clarifying the work The BSWC is doing, we sought to honor and highlight Black feminist herstory (whether that be cis femmes, Trans femmes or GNC nonmen,) The Comahee River Collective statement found us. This statement aligns with our principles, mission and work greatly. Instead of trying to rewrite a new statement, using what is already available was practical and herstorical. The statement is still quite relevant to our time and work though it was written in the 70s. The BSWC honors movements before us which paved the way for us to be here.
